| Comments: | Great site! Not long ago I was thinking about putting a coffee table book out about the wonderful live music scene in Metro Halfiax in the late 1960s. But this site is even better as it is a 'living' work that is constantly undergoing updates, additions, corrections, etc. It also serves as a place to contact old musical friends. What a concept. Keep it going and growing. I contributed some stuff on my band The Talk of the Town. Check it out. I played with Dave Moore in my first band - The Plague, with Donnie Estey, Rick Pringle, myself and a drummer named John Candy (I think)- we replaced him with Phil Clattenburg. It's all a little foggy now. Anyway. I was out West when Dave drowned. It was a shock. I understand he was trying to save a woman who was caught in the undertow at Lawrencetown Beach. The sad part was that, as far as I know, Dave couldn't swim. I have many good memories of Dave Moore and I always thought he could have gone as far as he wanted to in the music business. |

| Comments: | Hey Peter, I had a great time last night attending John Gray's ROCK'N'ROLL at the G.C.T.C. Theatre in Ottawa. Staring none other than Mr Rock'n'Roll himself FRANK MacKAY. it ran in Ottawa from May 31st to July 2nd..05. It was great to see and hear Frank again, and to chat with him. At the after show party I was told that one of the Ottawa cast Paul Rainville had dug up an ESQUIRES LP and had hung it on the wall in the bands dressing room. It was given to Frank and he asked for a autograph ( made my year ) ha! From one Fat Guy to another FRANK your the best and still light on his feet! The show now Travels on the road for several weeks in Ontario. Cheers r.e.p. |

I am a "child" of the 60's" and remember dancing to the Runic Stone (see Cover Bands) but was disappointed that the band, The Galaxies, was not mentioned. The band played in Tiverton, Yarmouth, Pubnico, Clark's Harbour, etc. and members were Gary & Duke Greene, Gary Goodwin, and Laurie Mullen (on drums - unfortunately deceased as result of a car accident some years ago). They played in the Battle of the Bands in Yarmouth in late 1960's . |
